What is Spirit Borne?

Spirit Borne is the performing arts expression of Quinte Youth for Christ. We disciple high school students in the Christian faith, while sharing the gospel in local schools and churches through music, drama, and dance. As team members learn how to work together both on- and off-stage, we challenge our team members and our audiences to explore the deep issues of life and the radical claims of Jesus Christ.

Our Season
Our season runs from September to March. In that time we tour local area churches and schools. During March break we take our show on tour. We have travelled to destinations including Quebec, the Maritimes, Vermont, Michigan, Indiana, and Florida.

Rehearsals
The team rehearses every Monday night from 6:30 - 9:30, beginning in September. Rehearsals are currently held in Belleville at Parkdale Baptist Church. A detailed schedule is available upon request. Our rehearsals include music, drama, and dance instruction, as well as Bible teaching, prayer, and small group discussions.

Our Staff
Our staff includes one program director and approximately 20 adult volunteers who fulfill technical, musical, and discipleship roles.

Our Members
The 2010-11 Spirit Borne team included 47 performers, an army of committed adult volunteers, and one full time staff member (program director). Over 20 local churches and 11 high schools were represented on the team.

Financial Commitment
The cost of Spirit Borne is comparable to what you might expect to pay for music lessons for your child. Parents are required to pay tuition and deputation fees, including a $100 deposit at registration.  These fees cover things such as training, costumes, retreats and tour expenses.
