Status of departure for the
Project Serve: Hurricane Katrina Relief Team

Depature time: 5:30am on Saturday March 8th
(proceeding as scheduled)

We are officially going to weather the storm (no pun intended).  We will be expecting to drive a little slower than usual and Franklin Bus Lines is confident of the new tires and good drivers.  We will escape Ontario (winter) and eagerly head south before the snow really hits.  See you at 5:00am!

Environment Canada has officially increased the Storm Watch to a Storm Warning, stating however that snow will become light overnight and the second more severe weather system will begin on Saturday afternoon.  This means we should be able to leave Ontario before any major problems happen.  We have made preparations for last minute overnight accomodations and have been advised by Franklin that we should be fine for our regular scheduled travel.  Regardless, we ask that you please pray for travel safety!

We will be updating this page hourly as we recieve new information from Environment Canada and Franklin Bus lines.  Please return later for more detail.
Our depatrue final decision will be at 10:00pm, Friday March 7th.
