Information on Jessica Broekema's Deputation Process
Deadline for Pledges is April 14
As the Executive Director of YFC / Youth Unlimited I want to share with you some exciting news concerning Jessica Broekema. Last year we had set out to find the individual who could best compliment the mission we had to reach a generation of young people through our growing community-based ministry. After reviewing 42 applicants, the YFC Board had unanimously selected Jessica to join our team as Administrative Assistant. This is a key role which provides essential support for our 7 full-time staff allowing them more time to spend with young people in the community and on the high school campuses. We have chosen Jessica because of her passion for Christ, her unique gifts in administration and her experience working with the public. Since beginning full-time with us in November, she has proven to be a valuable team member, striving for excellence in all she does.
Youth for Christ (now referred to as YFC / Youth Unlimited), is part of an international Christian Youth organization that is non-denominational and has over 3,000 full- time staff worldwide. Dr. Billy Graham was the first YFC staff member over 65 years ago and, since its’ inception, other organizations like World Vision have grown out of YFC. We see ourselves as missionaries, being sent to serve on local school campuses and networking with local churches and the community. As with most mission endeavors, funds come from a variety of sources and, within YFC, all staff are responsible for underwriting a portion of their salary through a process called ‘Deputation’. In Jessica Broekema’s case we were able to hire her full-time for 6 months under a special government contract which will be completed by mid May.
The YFC Board sees her potential and wants to keep her on full-time but due to financial restraints can only commit to pay her for 3 days a week. In order for her to extend her work week to 5 days a week, Jessica must have the remainder of her salary underwritten through the deputation process. We hope that you will agree that being an Administrative Assistant, working behind the scene is just as valuable as interacting directly with youth on a daily basis on the high school campus. I am personally inviting you to prayerfully consider being a partner with Jessica and Tim in this mission.
Before we can commit to extending Jessica’s commitment, we need to confirm a number of ministry partners who pledge to stand with her and assist in underwriting a portion of her ministry with us. You do not need to send any money now. Based on the number of commitments for support that we receive within the next few weeks, our YFC board and Jessica will be better prepared for future planning. We are seeking partners who would consider a monthly pledge, if possible, even if it’s as little as $10 a month. We also understand that personal circumstances may change and your support may be altered or cancelled at any time. We have set Monday April 14th as a deadline for all pledges to be in. We will then make a decision whether or not we will be able to extend the hours or days we can keep Jessica. Consequently, we are eager to know which individuals will partner with her in this exciting ministry!

What does Jessica need?
To help give you an idea of how this breaks down, financially, we will need about $104 per day for a total of 104 days each year which translates into $10,816 – not a staggering amount.
How much can you prayerfully consider giving?
For example, if you were one of 18 partners committing to only $50 per month, then all of her support would be raised. Some of you may be able to give more. Some less. Each and every faith partner’s donation is greatly appreciated. All cheques made payable to “Quinte YFC”. The support would start by May 1st.
What can you do?
1. Pray for Jessica & Tim as they step out in faith.
2. Consider filling in a pledge form below. We do not need any pledges to start until May 1 but YFC needs to determine the level of support. Deadline for the pledges to be in is MONDAY APRIL 14
3. If you wish to make a one time gift online please follow LINK to Donations page. Simply select Jessica's name on the drop down menu. Visa and Master card Accepted.
