Joel Martin is a man who loves his family, community, the outdoors, and last but not least, God! He and his wife Petra moved back to Madoc in 2011 after having spent some time in Alberta. In 2012 he joined QYU as the full-time Centre Hastings Satellite Director. He and Petra have 3 sons, the youngest being born in September 2015.
Joel is a quiet, unassuming people person. His vision is to “Ignite Hope in the heart of every young person, hope that will not disappoint.“ He does this through personal, one-on-one conversations with teens. He goes where youth gather (like the skatepark), dives into their world, and seeks to build meaningful relationships by learning their stories, background, and family situations.
He's really excited to see what will happen with Madoc's new beach volleyball court. In summer 2015 he worked with the town of Madoc to fundraise and install a brand-new beach volleyball court. A high school sports coach himself, he then ran a volleyball skills camp in Aug 2015 for local teens. What's next? Why not get to know him yourself and ask him!
